Chanley Painter

Legal Correspondent Chanley Painter is an attorney and award-winning journalist at Court TV. For more than three years, she has led Court TV’s live trial coverage, traveling across the US to report on historic trials, such as the Derek Chauvin trial, the Robert Durst trial and most recently, the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard trial.

Chanley hails from Arkansas, where she earned two professional degrees, graduating both with the highest honors, before passing two state bar exams simultaneously. Chanley studied law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, earning a coveted spot on the prestigious Law Review Editorial Board. She also earned a Master’s in Public Service degree from the Clinton School of Public Service. She is a former deputy prosecutor and is licensed in Arkansas and Tennessee. She began her television career as a legal analyst for NBC in Little Rock, AR.
