ABACO, Bahamas (Court TV) — A Georgia woman and two men, including her alleged lover, have been arrested in the Bahamas after authorities discovered an alleged plot to kill her estranged husband.

Lindsay Shiver, 36, of Thomasville, is accused of conspiring with her boyfriend, Terrance Bethel, 28, and another man, Faron Newbold, 29, to kill Robert Shiver, a former Auburn football player who now sells insurance.

According to the Bahamas Court News, investigators uncovered the alleged plot earlier this month while investigating a break-in at a bar on the island of Guana. While searching the phone of a suspect in the burglary, officers discovered messages on WhatsApp that detailed the alleged murder plot.

The Thomasville Times-Enterprise reported that the Shivers own a home in the Bahamas. It was while visiting the tropical destination that Lindsay Shiver reportedly began the affair with Bethel.

When Robert Shiver learned of the relationship, he filed for divorce, the newspaper reported.

It was then that Lindsay Shiver, Bethel and Newbold came up with their plan, authorities allege.

All three suspects were arrested last week.

Lindsay Shiver, a former beauty pageant contestant, and Robert Shiver met in 2007 while attending Auburn University, where Robert Shiver was a long snapper on the football team. He was briefly signed to the Atlanta Falcons as a free agent but was cut prior to the 2009 season, according to records.

Robert Shiver now works as the vice president of a life insurance company. He and his estranged wife have three sons together.

All three suspects went before a judge on Friday in Nassau, the Times-Enterprise reported. Each remains jailed while awaiting their next court date in October.
