MN v. POTTER (2021)

On April 11, 2021, veteran Brooklyn Center, Minnesota police officer Kim Potter shot and killed 20-year-old Daunte Wright during a traffic stop. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner ruled that Wright died of a gunshot wound to the chest, with the manner of death being homicide. Potter had apparently believed she reached for her Taser, but instead grabbed her department issued Glock 9mm handgun. Potter had been with the Brooklyn Center Police Department for 26 years before she submitted her resignation following the shooting.
