Prominent Florida real estate developer Adam Kaufman is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly strangling his wife to death. A hysterical Kaufman called 911 and said he found his wife, 33-year-old Eleanora, on the bathroom floor of the couple's Aventura, Fla., home on the morning of Nov. 7, 2007. It took over a year and a half before Kaufman was charged with murder and the medical examiner found that Eleanor had been killed by "mechanical strangulation" - meaning force would have to have been applied to cause her to strangle. The defense is expected to argue that the victim suffered from a pre-existing and undiagnosed medical condition that resulted in heart failure. There appears to be no motive and there is no history of marital discourse. Both families appear to support Kaufman. Kaufman faces life in prison.
