FL v. SUTTON (2010)
On August 22, 2004, an intruder broke into a Coral Gables home and fatally shot Susan Sutton. Her husband, John Sutton, was critically wounded and left permanently blind in the attack. Eight months later, their adopted son Christopher, who helped nurse his father back to health, is arrested and charged. Prosecutors claim a resentful Christopher hired confessed gunman Garrett Kopp to kill his parents, whose hatred stemmed from his constant battles over money and his irreconcilable bitterness over being sent - a decade prior - to a controversial boot camp for troubled youth.
