CA v. SIMPSON: WEEK 32

Prosecutor Hank Goldberg cross-examines defense forensic expert Dr. Henry Lee, attempting to soften the blow of Lee's testimony under direct examination when he suggested there may have been more than one killer. But the rest of the week is devoted to the Fuhrman Tapes, recordings of an interview with Mark Fuhrman who for hours was heard on audiotapes spewing dozens of racial slurs flanked by filthy expletives and mean-spirited jabs. The court spends days arguing as to whether or not these tapes should be played before the jury. Ultimately, Ito plays them aloud outside the presence of the jury, but rules not to allow the jury to hear them in full. He does, however, allow the defense to call witnesses to describe Fuhrman's racist behavior.
